1994: After numerous stints with small Bay Area bands, Stephen Jenkins decides to form his own group. Band members Kevin Cadogan, Arion Salazaar and Brad Hargreaves and Kevin Cadogan form the bands final line up after failed attempts before.

1996: After doing years on the small local circuit they hit it big when Elektra records invite them to New York for an audition after a demo tape was passed to the label. Through Stephen Jenkins cockiness they are booked to support Oasis in New York in April. They are told they can walk off at any point but they get a massive welcome and are called on for an encore as well as being paid double the fee for doing such a good job. May 1997, after a bidding war they sign with Elektra because it offers them the independence that they wanted.

1997: 2 months later their self titled album is released. It starts selling 16, 000 a week and eventually goes double platinum (2 million copies). 'Semi-Charmed Life', the first single released off the album is a major success with KROQ putting it on the playlist while KIMIT play it 35 times a week. Semi-Charmed Life wins the billboard modern rock track of the year. MTV also screen an edited version of the video. They support U2 and The Rolling Stones on tour as well as doing a solo headlining tour after James, whom 3eb were meant to be supporting pulled out of the tour, leaving 3eb headlining it. Stephan Jenkins is knocked unconscious after falling through a gap in the stage during a TV shoot for Fox TV in America. Later, in England, Bassists Arion Salazar was rushed to hospital with a viral infection - forcing the cancellation of a show in England, where they were due to play with the Seahorses.

1998: Spent the year so far touring and doing radio/TV appearances. Incident at the KROQ weenie Roast event at the end of June as Arion gets into a fight with Mike Dirnt from Green Day which results in Mike getting a skull fracture from a flying beer bottle.

1999: Third Eye Blind spent the first part of 1999 touring and writing their second album. They then spent most of the year in the studio in San Francisco recording their new album. Occasional news is heard about the album and controversial new tracks , one of which they are ventually forced to drop. The new album, entitled "Blue" is eventually released on the 23rd November, 1999.

2000: Third Eye Blind launch an American tour in support of their new album called the "Dragons and Astronauts" tour. Kevin Cadogan is ousted from the band in January of the year due to reasons that are still unknown at this time. Kevin is however suing the band for damages. Original guitarist Tony Fredianelli re-joins the group and takes over from Kevin. Tony finishes off the Dragons And Astronauts tour, and shortly after it's ending, the band goes on there Summer Tour entitiled "The Red Summer Sun Tour" Which band members say was there best tour yet.

2001 thus far: Stephan and Charlize break up- he wasn't ready to get married (so they say?) The band is busy recording and they play a few shows here and there, mostly private events. Stephan organizes a breast cancer benefit concert.
